Workshop was held in Sujirkars Skill Network premises by Shri Arun Desai, the Paper Engineer of Studio Chitte, Bengaluru .Shri Arun Desai has a scholarship from the Government of Japan for Origami and has taught in Bangkok and Hong Kong. He has been conferred the degree of paper engineer by the World Paper Congress. The paper engineer has conducted workshops for government school teachers on low-cost teaching and learning aids as part of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyana and has been featured in MAD, an art and craft programme on POGO channel.
Workshop started at 4:30 pm with lighting of Lamp and introduction of the SSN members and welcoming Chief Guest.
Session started with Shri Desai first making 3D Ganesha out of a plane white paper. Later he started introduction to paper cutting and paper folding techniques. Session went on with everyone trying the paper cutting techniques themselves and then creating their own art out of it.
Three hour session went on smoothly with all participants creating patterns, flowers, leafs and dinosaurs out of paper. Session ended at 7:30Pm.
Certificate distribution was done after the session ended with some light snacks.
Shri Arun Desai was felicitated by Mrs. Asha J Nayak and Ar. Jitendra Nayak for his association with SSN later and workshop was wrapped up by 8:00Pm.
